Rural GP

Im currently doing General Practitioner in Rural setting. Thus we are sent to different clinics in rural areas for ~3 weeks. Mine is in Amberley, about 40mins from my residential area in Chch.

OMG.. the medical centre over there are superrbly friendly. Everyone (the GPs, nurses, receptionist even! and ohhh lets not forget the patients aka rural folks! :D) are enthusiastic and hospitable. My GP would introduce me to every patient as "a young lady doctor from Msia" hehehehe~~ then we wil spend 5mins talking abt Msia or their farm or their families... phewww everyone knows everyone in this small lil town~ and help (let it be plumbing, horse riding etc) would just be around the corner =)
They even hav lunch roster! thus we'll sit and eat lunch together (enabling us to exchange news, talk abt our childhood, Msia, holiday plan etc2) everyday except Thursday (when we hav our lunch out at the nearby cafe instead)~ awwww arent they a big happy family~~~ OH, whats even more touching, since they know i cant eat meat except seafoods, whenever they prepare meaty lunch, there will be a lil seperate box of halal (vege/seafood) lunch for me *tears~ tissue plisss*. Im planning to cook Mee Goreng on my turn to bring lunch ^^ dunno when tht'll be yet, but will definately do~

Got to do lots of hands on stuff too.. from basic procedures like taking the blood pressure (i repeated my readings 3X in the beginning *no i didnt compromised the blood supply to their hands,hopefully -_-"* now im doing it like a pro 8D). ahak, perasan!
I was elevated when my GP praised my stitching today (after removing a query skin cancer) and asked whether i plan to be a surgeon :D I would loveee to be a surgeon if im a guy! but as a woman, being a surgeon will 'steal' too much time away from my family :S. But doing this GP rotation opens another option for me. How about doing general medicine and O&G for ~5yrs, then opens my own GP clinic? then i can work 9am-5pm.. that way im still pursuing my medical profession, while at the same time carrying out my fairy tale plan ^^ ok x akak, kak linda?
