Once upon a time, there lived a (?single) and poor mom with her adolescent daughter and a small son called Pekan. For some reason mom wanted to eat 'telur tembakul'- a kind of fish-egg.Everyday she went alongside the river to catch Tembakul fish for aaageees, and finally; with much patience and difficulty of course, managed to get a 'pregnant Tembakul'. Her daughter was asked to cooked the precious eggs while she went to do some work, but to make the story 'A story'... Pekan, the small child couldnt get enuff of the fish and wanted the whole egg for himself. He was probably 4-ish as stil breastfeeding i remembered this coz the mum put her breastmilk on a banana leaf before she committed suicide- showing tht she stil thought of him eventhou she ws very emo & sad and about to commit suicide. When the mom longingly and tiredly reached home, she got vry upset tht the eggs were gone and ran to this legendary cave called Batu Belah Batu Bertangkup (Batu=Rock, Belah=Divided/Cut, Bertangkup=Closed in Upside-Down Direction). This so-called big cave is possibly famous for 'eating ppl' by opening itself and closing & crushing anyone that goes into it. So she died by calling for the cave like this;
"Batu Belah Batu Bertangkup,
Telanlah akuu makanlah akuu,
Aku mengidam telur tembakul".
Ridiculous.
oh, hav i also explained tht this was made into a movie? Quite an evergreen movie in fact, i watched it a few times when i was a kid. But the story didnt end there.. there were more story abt Pekan and her sister surviving by themselves until they'd grown up and be somebody. but my point was tht ridiculous mom.
In another century and another place, lived this mom & dad and their rebellious daughter;Q. The mom has a pushy but not stern-enuf personality; which is incompatible with Q, as the daughter got easily pissed and menggelabah/kecoh with whatever issue tht they disagreed upon, while her mom lingered on tht issue for aages despite Q's VERY LOUD opposition on tht matter. To add spice to their life, Q is a girl with big imagination (honestly, not to talked down on her but really.. not much realization) tht is not in par with her mom's traditional way of living. This created a lot of drama between them including shouts & screams ovr the phone and in person, cold silence,running away from home etc2.
Both moms are ridiculous, lets not blame Pekan as he is 4+,BUT Q is super duper ridiculous too.
Q's Mom needs to chill a bit,but most importantly Q needs to grow up really quick. i mean, NOW. its hard to change mom's personality (she is 50+ i think.. ca'mon, buluh tua takleh nak luntur dah! nak ke mak sendiri patah dan hancur??), but Q.. dear Q, how many ppl hav u consulted and tell me if any of them EVER agree with how u argue/treat ur mum??
The one suffered the most on these dramas is the Dad. Dad being the middle person (aka the pacifier?) between the two of them including being the one walking aimlessly & worriedly the whole morning looking for Q tht had run from home after quarrelling with mom! not forget to mention it ws cold outside, and he fell down the stairs;mind too occupied on looking for his daughter rather thn his own safety =(
This makes me missing Mama even more. i love mama soo much. couldnt deny tht i didnt treat mama the way she deserved to be treated like a Queen.no, shuld be more than that., and sometimes no matter how hard i tried to control myself,i broke her heart too. by words, by actions,by my lack of patience or by ignoring her :'( ampun mama ampuun. u gave me the best of ur ability and love me unconditionally, but y is it so hard for me to perform my best as a daughter? it wil usualy be rainbows and butterflies for a few weeks when i gt home, but after a while my best behaviour worned out and i (slowly) no longer able to be ur perfect daughter. =( and later when i ws far away from u, i'l be regretting the sins i'd made and the sorrows i'd caused u ='((. I couldnt imagine dedicating myself solely as a mom and a housewife, and no wonder u're pressured and menyanyi lagu rap every now and then. nobody is perfect but u are my PERFECT mom. please dont ever doubt that. not tht u could read my blog anyway. sobs sobs kan dah kabur, tak nampak keyboard, takleh menaip dah. gotta end here.
*3.5 hours later*
Im sober from tears now *sniff*. ok, the moral of the story is; heaven lies beneath the feet of our mother (syurga di bwh tapak kaki ibu- is tht gud enuf being directly translated?) and God didnt allow the believers to even say 'AH' to our mothers. yes, arguments or frustrations does occur inevitably, but tht would b bcoz one or both parties were being ridiculous.
to correct mom's ridiculousness is..95% fruitless. if i picture myself for me.. in 20 yrs tyme kot??puh kiri puh kanan dealing with my own teenage daughter, wil i ever consider 'learning' from her n from her naive view, when i am 40+ yrs old by tht time?on the contrary,my everlasting ego wil possibly deny her rights!huhuhu hopefully not~.
in order to correct others u need to correct ur own defect 1st.then the consequent after tht is up to God to decide.thus daughters (am talking to myself mostly) need to accept our mom as whatever they are while at the same time struggling to be the best daughter they culd ever imagine, and learn from any defect to build a better family of our own in the future, rather thn continuingly moaning or fighting abt it coz blimey, tht aint going anywhere but to create another scar and hurting our precious mom. they did the ultimate deed by bringing us to the world n raising us,it's their right to be respected in return~
