O & G-ing.

Im in the computer lab at the mo. The rest of the team is caught up with this one case where an 18 weeks-pregnant lady with a massive cyst (half a football size) in her retroperitoneum, (discovered on the operating bed, as she was initially diagnosed with a queer ovarian cyst thus a laparotomy was done to chop/drain the cyst for pathology). An MRI had been done afterwards,but a crap one as she couldn’t lie still-> She has panic attack and gets hysterical even for a simple procedure like chest xray or blood test! Poor lady~~
However the interventional radiologist weren’t happy to allow drainage of the cyst percutaneously coz of the poor quality of the MRI imaging makes it tricky to exclude a diagnosis of sarcoma. If it does turns out to be a sarcoma,sticking a needle through the skin could cause seeding of the (possible) sarcoma to other passage of her body and spread the cancer somewhere else. Thus they demanded a better MRI film.. Even the oncologist refused to give a thumbs up (when asked to give a second opinion) even with the fact that duhhh… sarcoma's possibility of presenting itself as a cyst is like..negative 10. It should be solid-form and ugly.

So (while im typing this), they all are running around harassing the system. I cant help coz I don’t hav an authority on this matter. Doing another MRI (which means wasting another few thousand bucks down the drain) is a possibility if she doesn’t hav a panic disorder. And she cant really get full-blown sedation (to dampen her panicky symptoms) as we’re aware that the developing baby inside might be unhappy.

OK! OK! I will do another in English right now! Stop tht horrible wide-hippopotamus-mouth yawning!

i should be doing my other power point presentation (the one last 2 weeks was all fine & done, thank God). that explains this procrastinationing-entry (i dont think this word exist anyway).
